This page is devoted to all of the reviews that Bow Arrow Hunting has done in the past.   Read the reviews and enjoy.

After reading an article about Bow hunter’s Beards and Spurs club, I pick up the phone and called Steve Grace the founder of BBSC.  Steve started the BBSC because Pope and Young Club does not  have a wild turkey class.  Steve feels that turkeys are an animal that should have the same prestige as any other big game animal.  That is why he stated the BBSC Read more

Rage broad head review

I have been using expandable broadheads off and on for years.  There are several reasons that I like this kind of broadhead.  They fly like field a point which means no need to adjust the site pins.  This will allow you to simply screw on the broadheads and go out after the deer.  These expandable broadheads also have a larger cutting diameter than fixed blade broadheads. This means there will be a larger wound and a faster kill and recover. There is no need to align vanes or feathers with the blades of the broadhead.  There is almost no chance of the broadhead planning as the arrow flies to the target. Read more

I always look forward to seeing hunting videos.  This is a great way to see hunting in different parts of the world.  I have two videos to review that are from two extreme parts of the world.  Click here

We have a new product to review.  I have been using Blazer veins on and off for years and I have very good luck with them.  I was very excited to see that Bohning has come out with a Fletching Jig for the Blazer Veins.   This jig will put the Blazer veins on your arrows for the best performance. Review of rang holder
We have a new product to review.  We have been doing reviews for two years now and we have been very happy with the products that we have reviewed.  This is a product that that I’m very excited to show you.  I have been using range finders for years, and have found it very hard to get them out of pockets and holsters very fast.  Most times, I fumble around trying to get the range finder out of my pocket.  This extra movement would scare off any deer that may have been in the area. Bow hunting review

When you are looking for a bow stabilizer you will find that there are hundreds of different styles out there. It can be very hard to find the one that is perfect for you. Stabilizers come in all kinds and sizes.  They can be short, fat, long or skinny.   Some have big rubber parts or rubber sticking out of them. Many bow hunters ask “which one would be best for me”?  When going to archery shop you may try several different styles and they all seem to work the same.  Before you can pick the right stabilizer you have to ask some questions. You need to ask what the stabilizer will do for you and which one would be best for hunting.  To read more.

Reveiw
We are reviewing the Quality Archery Designs Ultra rest HD proseries Drop Away Rest.  A Drop Away Rest is a rest that drops away as the arrow is fired.  There are three types of rests we will be talking about in this article.  The three rests are the standard rest, the fall away rest, and the drop away rest.  The methodology that I used in testing this rest was shooting at a target at different ranges.  I also used it to shoot at 3D’s and hunting wood chucks. read more

I have thought long and hard before doing a review of a hunting video. A video to me should be something that you and a couple hunting pals could sit a round the TV at camp and watch at night.  It should have useful tips and be entertaining.  The video should show real- life hunting.  I hate seeing videos where the host is hunting with a guide and they say something useful like “having a good guide is important”. Then the guide’s phone number flashes on the screen.  I want to see a video that will show me how be become a better hunter. Read more

Turkerys decoys
We recently received a package of Renzo's turkey decoys to review.   Decoys are very important to bow hunting for turkeys.   Having  good decoys can distract a Tom as you draw back.  Decoys can also bring the
Tom in those last few yards.

Teaken
Broadheads are probably that most critical elements for a hunt.  The broadhead does all the work in killing  game.  The right broadhead can be the difference between a clean kill and a lost deer. Read more

Deer call
Calling deer can be the most fun part of deer hunting.  I would never go into the woods with out a grunt call.  I think that if a hunter is careful a deer call will never hurt you hunt.  The golden rule is that you never call to a deer if it is looking at you.  This is where most hunt blow there hunt. Fire nock
The idea of a lighted nock has always appealed to me for many reasons. The problem is that I have tried many different kinds of lighted nocks and have been very disappointed.  In most cases the nock doesn't work or only works for a short period of time.  I have found that most lighted nocks don't work well with carbon arrows.  The reason is that the power to light the light has to pass though the arrow and carbon is a poor conductor of electricity. Turkey call
The second Friction call that we will be talk about is the Slate call.  A slate call a call that is made up of a slate and a striker. Moving the end of the striker over the slate will make many different sounds. Read more

The dictionaries defined friction as "The resistance encountered when one body is moved in contact with another".  What does that have to do with turkeys calls?  There are two kinds of turkeys calls available to hunters.  The first is A mouth call.  This is a call that you blow air or sound though it.  The problem with this kind of call is that they can be difficult to us and take skills to us right.  The other call is a friction call.  This is a call that you move one part of the call against a nether part of the call.  This kind of call can be ease to use and is very effective.Read more
